It is a hydrotherapy treatment in which turbines is used to agitate and aerate water in a tank when a person immerse himself in controlled temperature and pressured water. Water temperature selection varies depending on patients condition and desired therapeutically outcome Cold whirlpools (ranging from 50°–79°F) are useful in treating acute inflammation. Tepid whirlpools (79°–92°F) are used to facilitate early therapeutic exercise.
